Homelessness Support

Our support workers interview all our potential clients. Following this you may be registered with us for support, for up to two years.

What do support workers do?

Support can be intense at the beginning of a tenancy. Your support worker will be in contact with you on a weekly basis

  • Helping you to get settled in
  • Ordering furniture
  • Liaising with the utility providers
  • Delivering our starter packs (food, bedding, pots & pans, cleaning products etc)
  • Making sure that the move into your new home goes as smoothly as possible

You will work with your support worker to develop your support plans. These help you identify your needs and work towards independence in a structured way, focusing on clear outcomes.

We have regular contact with many other agencies throughout Calderdale and are able to access the services that they provide should they be relevant to your needs.

We will come round and see you in your new home and a member of the support team will always be on hand at the office should you need to speak to someone straight away.

You will have access to SmartMove +, SmartSkills and our volunteer befriending scheme

The transition from homeless to housed can be a problematic time of your life - with SmartMove's help, the whole experience should be a less stressful and a much simpler process.
