Self Development Through Learning Power
SmartSkills is available to all clients through a referral from your support worker. SmartSkills gives you the opportunity to find out about learning and training in any area that interests you. This could be courses at adult learning providers within Calderdale. We have our own website called SmartSearch which gives details of most of the adult learning providers within Calderdale.
SmartSkills offers informal learning support with Maths, English, IT, Health issues and C.V. building. We also run a variety of specific learning projects for our clients.
Opportunities for learning and involvement are as follows:-

- Gardening and vegetable growing
- Photography
- Organising events
- Arts and Crafts
- And many others
At SmartMove we have a dedicated Learning Zone where you will be able to use a variety of equipment free of charge, including: projector, interactive white board, digital camera, digital video cameral and several IT workstations for internet access.
Clients who have come to SmartSkills have found it to be very helpful and positive. Some have entered further education and received qualifications and training, gained employment in new areas, or just learnt something new and enjoyed the company and support of others. The feedback from clients has been very positive.
