We work with both Housing Associations and Private landlords in order to maximise the accommodation opportunities open to our clients.
Housing Association accommodation in Calderdale makes up some of the affordable rented accommodation and is provided through many Registered Social Landlords. SmartMove has joint working protocols with some of these Associations and we work closely with them to enhance the chances of the client succeeding in their tenancy.
Private Rented Accommodation makes up a considerable amount of affordable rented housing. We work with private landlords in providing suitable homes for homeless people. We currently have over 100 landlords registered with us, who regularly let their properties through the SmartMove scheme.

- Advice and information on housing benefit and local housing allowance at the start of the tenancy
- Ongoing assistance with housing benefit and local housing allowance problems during the tenancy

- Mediation between landlords and tenants where there is a dispute
- Ongoing support for tenants from a team of dedicated support workers
- Advice and assistance on available grants
